Solano Active Transportation Plan

We want Solano County to be a place where walking and biking are safe, convenient, and fun for people of all ages and abilities. The Solano Active Transportation Plan is dedicated to creating both a bicycle and pedestrian network that are safe, comfortable, and convenient.

Safe. We want to reduce roadway fatalities and major injuries for all – people walking, bicycling, and driving. This supports the Solano Travel Safety Plan.

Convenient. We want more people biking and walking for all types of trips! Everyone in Solano County should have access to walking and biking opportunities to nearby destinations and transit.

Fun. We want streets and trails that enrich the lives of everyone who lives, works, or plays in Solano County.

Building on Past Achievements

This Plan will build on the 2012 Countywide Bicycle Plan and Pedestrian Plans, which set ambitious goals and a clear vision to improve mobility and safety. It will also build on the recent work in the Solano Travel Safety Plan and Safe Routes to Schools program to connect schools, parks, businesses, and neighborhoods to each other for people walking and bicycling.

The Plan will develop solutions for people walking and biking in Solano County and each of its seven cities and align new walking and bicycling projects with local, state, and federal funding sources.

We can’t do this without you!

To create this Plan, we need to hear from you. Whether or not you walk or bike regularly, we would like to know:

Can you bike to where you need to go?

Is your neighborhood or workplace safe and comfortable to walk around?

What improvements would you like to see?

Your everyday experience is important to us! There are lots of ways to get involved, both online and in person.

Suisun City's Sesquicentennial Celebration

Join us on October 13 for a parade and community celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Suisun City.

On October 9, 1868, the Solano County Board of Supervisors approved a petition signed by 103 residents to incorporate the “Town of Suisun City.” Elections for Trustees was called for November 17, 1868, at the Union Fire House.

To celebrate, the City is planning a Main Street parade, carnival rides, live music on Harbor Plaza Stage, community entertainment in Harbor Square Courtyard, and a laser water show spectacular in the Marina to end the day.

Visit Suisun.com for more information.
