Suisun Waterfront Takes Next Step in Redevelopment

Conceptual Rendering
of Tower
On April 25th the Suisun City Council approved plans to construct a two-story, mixed use building at the southeast corner of Main and Solano streets adjacent to the Harbor Plaza. The anchor project's plans call for 17,500 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the first floor and 16,500 square feet of office space on the second floor. The council also approved plans for a second two-story, mixed use building across the street on the northeast corner that will add another 10,500 square feet of retail and office space.

The project is the first phase of a development agreement between the City of Suisun City and Main Street West Partners and could break ground in late summer. The agreement includes a total of 13 downtown parcels, covering 8.4 acres that the Suisun City Redevelopment Agency sold to Main Street West Partners in April. Included in the sale are commercial waterfront parcels, several empty parcels and existing buildings on the west side of Main Street, and land for two residential housing developments along Civic Center Boulevard and Lotz Street.

The anchor project at Main & Solano streets includes a large public courtyard designed to reduce the impact of the wind. The courtyard's main feature will be an oversized outdoor fireplace that will extend the usable season. The courtyard should become a popular gathering place to enjoy music and events. The city will own and maintain the courtyard.
